Fidan Gurbanova is a lawyer with experience in the maritime industry.

She has obtained her LLB in Law from Baku State University and MSc in Marine Policy from Cardiff University. She worked for the Azerbaijan State Maritime and Port Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and in the private offshore sector.  She was closely involved in the implementation of the IMO instruments, including ISM and ISPS Codes.

She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Cardiff (UK) researching the role of small and medium-sized seaports and their integration into multimodal transport-transit corridors.
