Chartering a vessel refers to the hiring or renting of a ship’s capacity for transportation of cargo. Ships are chartered under different types of contracts, called the charterparties. This Snapshot aims to elaborate comprehensively on the bedrock of chartering – the so called charterparty. It describes and explains the prevailing types of charterparties and further elaborates on details peculiar to each type. The language of delivery is English.
By the end of this course, you will know about:
  • Types of Charterparties (Time Charterparty, Voyage Charterparty and Bareboat) and
  • Charterparties Clauses
