SWOT analysis is, a strategic planning technique, used to help a person or organization identify, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, related to business competition or project planning. The WMA LAST NAUTICAL MILE session on SWOT U helps the participant you to apply your knowledge and skills in your personal and as work environment. SWOT is a useful aid, useful to YOUR thinking, simply because it directs your attention to aspects of strategic thinking that may be subconsciously ignored.  SWOT helps you think and in turn informs your decisions. SWOT cannot make your decisions for you, nor can it guarantee success. Remember, SWOT is a tool and only one of many strategy-making tools in your toolbox. Your SWOT tool is only as good as its operator. You still have to do the work, you still have to interpret the analysis, and you still have to make decisions. This session will help and guide you to you examine yourself and your personality. Turn yourself inside out. Identify strengths, weaknesses, and define opportunities, and threats, and based on that set your plans for the future.  
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
  • learn the basic components of SWOT
  • understand the SWOT dimensions as a useful strategy tool
  • carry out a SWOT analysis of yourself
  • guide you around its pitfalls
  • digest the principles and put them into practice
  • assist you to project your knowledge to the business level
