Posidonia, as considered to be the home of international shipping, or ‘family gatherings’ according to Melina Travlos, President, Union of Greek Shipowners, has reopened its doors for the global maritime community from the 6th to the 10th of June 2022.

Amazing exhibition, sessions and of course, parties! In the words of a friend this year’s Posidonia was ‘the shipping Disneyland’, a pure celebration to authentic maritime heritage after several global and local lockdowns.

Posidonia Exhibition took place at the Metropolitan Exhibition Centre just a short drive from the Athens International Airport, with over 1,964 exhibiting companies from 88 countries and some 29,000 visitors from 103 countries and territories who flooded the exhibition and conference rooms to their rims. Added to that, 68 shipping conferences and seminars during the exhibition’s five-day span.

Numbers say it all! this year’s event set new benchmarks and standards for volume, size and quality.

The 2022 Posidonia exhibition has been the busiest, biggest ever! Full programme for at least fifteen days, greater exhaustion than normal  but thoroughly enjoyed!

As the former President of the Union of Greek Shipowners Theodore Veniamis has said, “This family’s strong roots go deep: five millennia for Greek shipping and half a century of Posidonia. Together at Posidonia we will be looking ahead, to great opportunities and to addressing the challenges that we face together. Renewing and beginning friendships that are the foundation of long-term success.”

We are recovering Posidonia 2022 and looking forward to Posidonia 2024!
